My Mamarazzi Favorite Things Swap Package is Here!

At the beginning of last month, I posted about participating in Mamarazzi's Favorite Things Swap. Per the rules of the swap, I mailed my package on Monday, March 2nd to my partner, Spaghetti in Bagels/Insanity at its Best. While I'm eager to see what she thinks about my goodies, I'm excited to say that her package to me arrived today!

(Please excuse my crafting table, yikes!) Inside were:

1. Adorable polka dotted makeup tote with smaller zippered pouch.

2. Maybelline mascara - I've been wanting to try this one!

3. "The Wedding Date" on DVD (haven't seen this one, but it's actually been on my Netflix queue!)

4. Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks (I've read several of his other books - she is right on the mark!)

5. Glade French Vanilla candle (smells fantastic!)

6. Cute gumdrops greeting card with a note from her.

This swap was so much fun! I just hope that she enjoys everything that I sent as much I did putting it all together! :-) Many thanks to Mamarazzi for working so hard to put together such a great swap!

Swap books and makeup for free

While we’re on the subject of swaps, here are two of my favorite swap sites:

1. Paperback Swap
If you’re a bookworm like me and have overflowing shelves (or your entire apartment and garage) of books you’ve read but haven’t yet traded in at your local used bookshop, stop by Paperback Swap. The site explains itself pretty well: Mail a book. Get a book. Any book you request is yours to keep, share or swap. No late fees. No processing charges. No hidden charges. Every time you mail a book to another member, you can request one for yourself from over 2.9 million books. I joined Paperback Swap in fall 2007 and have happily been swapping books ever since! There are several other similar sites to this one, but PBS is my all-time favorite.

2. Makeup Alley
I was informed in a recent issue of Glamour magazine that a pale gold nail polish made by Revlon looks great on everyone. I believed this until I bought it and tried it on at home. Obviously not everyone! Makeup Alley (or MUA as users lovingly call it) is a remedy to buyer’s remorse in situations like these. At this site (which is also fee free, by the way) you can trade skincare, makeup, and body products as well as perfume and a few stray books and CDs.

BONUS: First of all, let me say that I’ve just found this site so I can’t vouch for how it works, etc., but it sounds like a lot of fun. Swap-bot organizes group swaps and a community of creative individuals. Swap-bot takes the hassle out of participating in group swaps by organizing all of the participant information and doing all of the partner assignments. On Swap-bot, you can host swaps, join swaps, and chat with other swappers from all over the world. Give it a try!

Mamarazzi’s Favorite Things Swap

I love free stuff, mystery boxes, and sampler boxes, and I love getting stuff in the mail (actual junk mail need not apply). So when I heard about Mamarazzi’s Favorite Things Swap, I knew that I would have to participate! The basics: gather a box of your favorite goodies and send them out to another girly. Someone will do the same for you! Interested in playing? Here are some rules and info:

1. Visit Dandelion Wishes by Friday, February 13 and grab the Swap Button to add it to your blog in a post about the event. Use the post to this link to RSVP via Mr. Linky (explained in greater detail at Dandelion Wishes).

2. Once you’ve posted on your blog about the Favorite Things Swap, send Mamarazzi an email (her email is on the website) with your name and address, blog address, email address, any food/product allergies, and if you’re willing to ship internationally. She’ll pass this on to your swap-mate, the girl you’re sending to and receiving from!

3. Assemble a great package of things you would love to receive. That is, think of your favorite things you’ve tried or own and go buy new versions of them (example: your favorite mascara, favorite book, etc). Spend $20-$30 on your package PLUS shipping.

4. Send your complete package on Monday, March 2 to your swap-mate. Wait anxiously by the mailbox each day until you receive yours!

You must be able to communicate with Mamarazzi via email on a regular basis. There’s already nearly 40 people playing so she needs to know you’re still going to come through and not let another girl down!
